What to do When it Won't Stop Snowing

Hello hello.
It is the afternoon of New York's second big snow storm this year. What I did not stock up in in groceries, I have happily countered with books. This is the sort of weather that makes you grateful for remote work, even if it is a little lonely. The sort of weather that makes a hot cup of coffee especially delightful and makes peeking outside an act of awe.
I'm sort of like a child in the sense that I love being outside and I actually really love winter too, even if the tail end of it is quite long. The only thing I don't like is being cooped up inside, which will be my challenge for the day. In lieu of three deaths and delights, I present a list of stuff to do with your snow day, between calls or after you shut your laptop.
Stuff to do on your snow day
reread something you abandoned the first time and finally figure out why it didn't land
make a real pot of coffee and drink it slowly before you look at your phone
rearrange your bookshelf by color, by theme, or by the version of yourself that bought each one
open a Hot Literati Guided Journal and actually do the work — you've had it open in a tab long enough
write a letter to someone you've been meaning to tell something to
make your apartment feel like homier: fresh flowers if you have them, order real blanket, every surface that bothers you dealt with
pick one idea from the last book you read and follow it somewhere new: an essay, a rabbit hole, a conversation with yourself in your journal
cook something that requires actual attention — follow a real recipe, no shortcuts, music on
light every candle you own, put your phone in another room, and just read for two hours straight
print out a Hot Literati Reading Companion and start it today — you have nowhere to be
pull out a physical book you bought because it made you look smart and actually start it
deep clean one room slowly, put on a podcast or audiobook
sit down with How to Think Better and actually finish a module — the whole thing, start to finish
write down every book you've actually finished in the last year — be honest
make a reading list for the next 90 days like you mean it and post it (tag us <3)
sit with the uncomfortable question the last good book left you with and finally write your answer down
