Ballet, Computer Science, and Journaling
hello hello good people of Hot Literati

I hope you've all had a wonderful weekend. I've been so busy with work and other things, but a recent highlight is that I went to the ballet. I hadn't been in about four years and as I've written about a lot, I did ballet very seriously for fifteen years. My school practiced the Cecchetti method, which I'd love to learn more about the history of now, but as a kid, I remember being so jealous of the Vagonova and Balanchine girls because they got to bend their elbows more.
New York City Ballet performed Serenade, The Prodigal Son, and Paquita. I wore a plunge Armani dress that I've worn many times and taken very few photos of. It was beautiful, Serenade was my favorite, but perhaps because I've seen it the most, both in New York and back in Kansas. If you're under 30, you're elligible to get discounted tickets to the ballet and other sorts of performances, I think.
Lately, I've also been just reading a ton, writing a ton, and learning a lot. I studied a bit of the basics of Computer Science, more of the theory behind the field, and I have to say it's changed a lot of the ways I think about technology. I'm struck with the question of what we can automate versus what she should automate.
For example, you can't automate emotional processing or thinking. You have to do that stuff in your own head, which is why I love journaling. I write so much, journals and journals and journals just to get my thoughts out. If you are looking to write more and want a little structure and some exercises, I highly recommend the Hot Literati Handbook.
I'm also working on some exciting journals that you'll be able to complete to earn merch :o. Coming soon. Tell your friends and subscribe to our mailing list if you aren't already <3
