It's all a matter of perspective

Hello my beautiful angels, cuties, and lovers.

I think it's safe to say that I finally feel like myself again. And by that I mean, I'm doing my hair and looking at beautiful images and things don't feel so frenetic anymore. I'm even listening to more Lana Del Rey again.

Your mind is sort of a bouncing, leaping thing that you have to take care of. And a couple of years ago, after reading The Mind's I, I got obsessed with the "hard problem of consciousness," which is a also an obsession of Vladimir Nabokov. I finished my 14th book of the year yesterday. One of these books was Invitation to a Beheading, and I think it explores these ideas of individuality, surveillance, and paranoia in fascinating ways. There's something so solipsistic in his work, or in other things I've enjoyed like A Calling for Charlie Barnes. But I think you get to a point where it's exhausting to fancy yourself as the only person In the world and you've got to let go of that if you want to have a nice time at anything.

Walking Home

Like this morning, as I walked home, a man In a car was waiting to turn and he said something, playfully to us pedestrians, but the man in front of me immediately leapt to a conclusion and yelled out "f*ck you!"

I found that really interesting, because I thought the driver was joking and my instinct was to smile.

Losing all my Playlists

I recently posted about how I accidentally deleted all of my playlists. Someone in the comments accused me of "rage bating." But it's interesting that playlists are seen as a necessity in today's world. All of my older friends at the open mics don't even use streaming platforms. Isn't that wild? And last month, after church I taught a 70 year old woman how to use Youtube. It's all a matter of perspective and it's good to be surprised by things.
