Virginia Woolf Should have Done More Karaoke

Dear Hot Literatis,

I hope you all had a beautiful weekend. I just ran seven miles, I love an evening summer run. At the end, I popped into AWOL on 25th street to sing exactly one karaoke song.
I was thinking about how so much of life is keeping yourself entertained and moving toward a goal you can believe in. And you have to have fun and do it with levity. We just finished reading The Waves for our book club and I enjoyed cracking up week after week as Jason, Shanice and myself really struggled to get through it because it was so heavy.
"There can be no doubt, I thought, pushing aside the newspaper, that our mean lives, unsightly as they are, put on splendor ahd have meaning only under the eyes of love."
I don't agree with Virginia Woolf. I think that our lives also have meaning when we drink a really big margarita and aren't embarrased to lick off the salt. I think my life has meaning every time I see someone with a black pug.
I'm crazy about attention and protecting where mine is directed because I think that that is how you enjoy things and become the sort of person who does something really incredible with your life.
Here are my deaths and delights:
Little Deaths
I literally don't enjoy sleeping :o
I need new running shoes!!!
New York Summer (hot take! I find it a bit dull, I prefer Kansas or Paris)
Little Delights
Men who cook >
Long attention spans...
Post yours in the chat section of our community.
Love you all, big!
