Who we are
Most reading apps track what you finish. Hot Literati is built around something different: the idea that what you read shapes who you become, and that becoming is more fun with people doing it alongside you — wherever in the world they are.
We're not a social feed with books attached. Our community shows up for a live monthly book club, walks into real-world chapters across multiple cities, takes short courses through HL Academy, submits their own writing and music, and comes out for events that feel like the party they didn't know they were missing.

The founder
Hot Literati is founded and led by Hailey Denise Colborn — Miss Teen USA 2018, a Princeton graduate in English Literature (with certificates in Gender & Sexuality Studies, African American Studies, and Creative Writing), and the creator behind @hotliterati, one of TikTok's best-known literary accounts.
She was taught to read at three and found in books the place she felt most like herself. At Princeton, reading Fitzgerald's This Side of Paradise convinced her that literature wasn't just entertainment — it was a way of building a self. Hot Literati is the community she wished had existed: one that treats reading like a lifestyle, not a chore to track.
Her work and Hot Literati have been featured in The Daily Princetonian, and she continues to write — her debut novel is in progress.
