Program Details

  • Duration: Spring Semester 2026 (January - May)

  • Time Commitment: 6 hours/week

  • Location: NYC or Kansas preferred, but open to remote for exceptional fits

  • Compensation: This is an unpaid internship. We understand this may be a deterrent, and we’re committed to working with students to secure academic credit or stipends through your institution if available.

Pinterest Intern

Develop and execute Hot Literati’s Pinterest strategy to drive traffic and build community. Create original pins, curate boards that reflect our aesthetic, and optimize content for discovery. You’ll help establish Pinterest as a key channel for reaching readers and creatives seeking beautiful, thoughtful content.

 

You’re great for this if

  • You understand Pinterest culture and what makes content perform

  • You have an eye for visual storytelling and brand aesthetics

  • You’re strategic about content that drives action, not just saves

Substack Intern

 

Support Hot Literati’s Substack newsletter and community engagement. Draft posts, manage comments, engage with subscribers, and help grow our 8,000+ reader community. You’ll be the voice of Hot Literati in our most owned channel.

  • You love facilitating thoughtful discussions

Instagram Intern 

 

Create and schedule Instagram content (feed posts, stories, reels) that brings Hot Literati’s literary lifestyle to life. Manage our 37k+ community, respond to DMs and comments, and translate our brand values into visual storytelling.

  • You understand Instagram trends and what resonates with creative audiences

  • You can write compelling captions that feel authentic, not corporate

  • You’re comfortable with basic photo/video editing

Website Intern

 

Manage [hotliterati.com](http://hotliterati.com) on Wix—updating product pages, optimizing for SEO, writing copy, and ensuring the site reflects our brand beautifully. You’ll be responsible for the digital storefront where our community discovers and purchases our guides.

  • You have basic web management skills (Wix experience a plus)

  • You can write clear, compelling product copy

  • You’re detail-oriented and understand user experience

Community Building Intern

 

Coordinate our college ambassador program (15+ ambassadors nationwide) and support the development of our upcoming Angels membership community. Create toolkits, track engagement, facilitate connections, and help build the infrastructure for genuine community.

  • You understand the difference between audience and community

Establish and grow Hot Literati’s presence on Tumblr. Create original posts, reblog relevant content, and build community within Tumblr’s literary and creative spaces. You’ll help us reach a platform-native audience that values depth and aesthetic.

  • You can adapt Hot Literati’s voice for this specific community

Product Development Intern

 

Research, design, and develop Hot Literati guided journals and merchandise. Work in Figma/Canva to create layouts, design exclusive loyalty program items, and contribute to product concepts. You’ll receive byline credit as a contributor on guides you help develop.

  • You have design skills (Figma or Canva experience preferred)

  • You love books, ideas, and beautiful objects

  • You can balance aesthetic vision with practical execution

YouTube & Podcast Producer Intern

 

Produce Hot Literati’s YouTube channel and podcast featuring conversations between creatives, authors, and thinkers. Coordinate guest bookings, manage recording sessions (remote and in-person), edit video for YouTube and audio for podcast, and optimize content for discovery. Create one compelling conversation per week that becomes multiple assets across platforms.

 

You’re great for this if:

 

  • You have video and/or audio editing skills (or eager to learn both)

  • You’re organized enough to coordinate schedules and book interesting guests

  • You understand how to make long-form content discoverable and engaging

Digital Events Intern

 

Host Hot Literati’s weekly virtual book club. Facilitate engaging discussions, create discussion guides, manage registration and attendance, and build community among our readers. You’ll be the warm, welcoming presence that brings our community together around books every week.

  • You’re comfortable facilitating conversations and making people feel welcome

  • You’re a thoughtful reader who can ask great questions

  • You’re reliable and can commit to a weekly schedule throughout the semester

NYC IN-PERSON POSITIONS

TikTok Intern - On Camera Host

 

Co-create and host “The Hottest Literati,” our weekly TikTok show. Develop episode concepts, appear on camera, and help build a viral format that makes books and ideas fun and accessible. This is a creative leadership role for someone ready to be the face of something new.

 

You’re great for this if:

 

  • You’re charismatic on camera and love performing

  • You understand TikTok trends and what goes viral

  • You’re collaborative and excited to build something from scratch

TikTok Intern - Producer/Editor

 

Co-create and produce “The Hottest Literati,” our weekly TikTok game show. Develop the format, shoot episodes, edit videos, and optimize content for virality. You’ll become an expert in TikTok video production while building something genuinely entertaining.

  • You have video editing skills and understand pacing/storytelling

  • You’re strategic about what makes TikTok content perform

  • You’re excited to develop a repeatable, scalable format

Plan and execute Hot Literati events in NYC—book clubs, creative gatherings, product launches, and community experiences. Handle logistics, create memorable moments, and help build our IRL presence in the city.

Help hailo through strategic networking and content. Primary focus: book speaking engagements, podcast appearances, panels, and guest opportunities that position hailo as a thought leader in literary media and creative entrepreneurship. Secondary: create content across LinkedIn, Instagram, and YouTube to support this visibility.

 

You’re great for this if

 

  • You’re confident with outreach, pitching, and relationship building

  • You understand how to position founders for speaking opportunities

  • You can balance proactive networking with content creation
