Laurel Touby founded Mediabistro.com in the 90s, before "online community" was a common thing. She built one of the first real networks for people in media to connect, upskill, party, and more.

After selling it, she moved into angel investing and now runs Supernode Ventures, a pre-seed/seed fund. She's spent fifteen years plying her 15,000-person network to connect founders, and she still hosts her own legendary events out of her Flatiron loft, continuing the idea that if you put the right people in a room together, something great happens.
