Pickleball and Kalshi

Good morning Hot Literatis,

It is Thursday. I'm on my second cup of coffee, I just finished reading a friend's script, and I'm about to begin work on my own manuscript. Today I'll cross the threshold into 10,000 words! Nice!

Yesterday, I pulled myself out of my little writing cave to go to two events which I'll share now:

Pickleball with the Pros

The U.S. open is still underway here. Yesterday I was invited to the Hyatt Regency at Times Square to watch Alycia Parks (USA), Barbora Krejcikova (Czech Republic), and McCartney Kessler (USA) play pickleball on this fun pop up court. Pantalones Tequila served drinks and the players served the ball for anyone willing to take the court. I saw a handful of influencers, lots of journalists, and some really great serves.

Then we had book club <3 :D

And then I went to...

Unmuted's "The Kalshi Crisis"

Umnuted is an event series dedicated to the honest debate. It was held in Fabrik in Dumbo and featured a debate about whether or not platforms like Kalshi are good for society. I heard a beautiful reflection on free speech and met a few nice people.

Then I went home and continued writing.

that's all! hailo
